Employment Assistance

The CareerCenter offers services in both individual and group settings. Some CareerCenters may require you to attend an orientation session to find out what kinds of services you are eligible for or fit your individual needs. Ask the staff person at your local CareerCenter information center how to get started. You are always free to attend a workshop, come in and browse through the information center, use a computer for job search purposes or find much of the information you need online.

• Workshops: CareerCenters offer workshops and classes on a variety of topics including networking, job search techniques, resume writing, and more. Find workshops at a CareerCenter near you.
• Job Fairs: get a list of upcoming job fairs in your area or around the state.

Job Search Tools

• Maine’s Job Bank: Job seekers can search for jobs online, post a resume, and get matched with employers. Employers can post job opportunities at no charge, review profiles of interested applicants and manage job listings 24/7.
• List of other online job search engines
• Equipment: computer labs, internet access, fax machines, copiers and phones are available for job search purposes.
• Meeting space: interview and conference rooms are available for employers; many are equipped with video conferencing and audio/visual equipment.
• Labor Market Information: Maine Department of Labor's Center for Workforce Research and Information (CWRI) provides data on wages, jobs in demand, employment and industry trends and much more.
